Neighborhood Shopping Malls,
My Favorite Place for Shopping, Entertainment, and Relax
My heart warms up when talking about neighborhood shopping malls because these places provide us convenience to get almost all things we need for our daily necessity, celebrating special days in our life, and meeting up with relatives, neighbors, and friends.
Most of the time we shop our groceries, books, clothing, foods at neighborhood malls because they are close to our house and sometimes the price is cheaper than Orchard Road, Vivo city, or other places in town. Probably it’s because the rental was cheaper than those at prime location.
Let me now show you 7 things that you will normally see in the malls:
- Groceries stores such as
NTUC FairPrice
, Cold Storage, Shop & Save, etc.
- Restaurants (including the fast-food chain like Mc Donald, KFC, Long John Silver, etc) & Food Courts for local food and delicacies. Sometimes you can also find Western, Japanese, Korea food and others with reasonable price inside the food court.
- Kids corner:
Some of the malls are equipped with kid’s playground like the one at IMM, Hougang Mall, etc to entertain the kids while the parents shop around.
- Clothing stores:
Clothing chain stores like Bossini, Giordano, Hang Ten, BYSI, G2000, Dano, Sense, This Fashion/ COX, etc. normally open their store at neighborhood malls too. What a convenience!
- Bags and shoes stores:
Charles & Keith
is the famous local brand for bags, shoes, and accessories that opens almost at all neighborhood shopping malls.
- Specialty or hobby stores:
If you are looking for DIY craft or hobby stores, I’ll suggest you go to Jurong Point shopping mall. I went there recently and found stores selling crystal and glass beads for DIY jewelry making, DIY cake decoration, and craft store teaching people to knit their own shawl and sweater.
Ehm…, I like this mall so much that I keep coming back to buy crystal beads, jewelry tools, and starting new hobby doing my own jewelry.
- Miscellaneous:
If you are looking for money changer or pharmacy, you’ll find it at one of neighborhood shopping malls. You’ll also find places for foot massage, hair salon, beauty salon, or even dentist at these malls.
